LinuxST / a history of linux

About This Site

LinuxST is a small project documenting the history and evolution of the Linux operating system. The name stands for "Linux Story" — or "Linux Space-Time," depending on how philosophical you're feeling.

This site is maintained as a personal reference and educational resource. All content is written by hand, served as static HTML with no JavaScript frameworks, no tracking, and no cookies. Just text, as it should be.

The site is hosted on a modest VPS running Debian. The pages are authored in a text editor and deployed via rsync. There is no CMS. This is the way.

If you have corrections, suggestions, or want to contribute a section on a particular distribution or kernel release, feel free to reach out.

This site is not affiliated with the Linux Foundation, Linus Torvalds, or any Linux distribution.
